Beauty & The Beast Book Tag

Hello everyone! I was tagged by the wonderful Lilly @lairofbooksblog thank you! (go check her blog out!) for this awesome tag a while back, 28 weeks and 5 days to be precise, which is very frustrating. I have been unjustly putting it on hold and I regret it. However, with the upcoming Beauty And The Beast movie, which will be released on the 17th of March, I will try to make amends by joining the hype.
Let’s get this party started!

“Tale As Old As Time” – A popular theme, trope or setting you will never get bored with reading.

I’m a hopeless romantic and I have stated before that I am huge fan of Nicholas Sparks. His stories of couples that get together after many hardships to then fall apart and sometimes manage to get back together, is a setting I will never get bored with.
My favourites include:

The Longest RideMe Before You (Me Before You, #1)The Best of MeDear JohnThe Notebook (The Notebook, #1)The Lucky One

Belle – A book you bought for its beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside too

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I chose this edition of the book, because it is somehow simple yet very creative and also because blue is my favourite colour. I know. I am that simple. I found myself in this book and was able to connect with the main character in ways I have never done before. It surprised me, made me laugh, made me sad, at times even depressed, made me happy and sometimes all at once.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Beast – A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasantly surprised you

Although I own quite a few and want to read as many classics as possible, I cannot say I was expecting much from Hamlet, with all the it-was-written-so-many-ages-ago and I-will-probably-be-not-able-to-relate-to-it reasons, but it turned out to become one of my all time favourites. It probably helped that I read the No Fear Shakespeare graphic novel version than the original.

Hamlet (No Fear Shakespeare Graphic Novels)

Gaston – A book everyone loves that you don’t

No one’s slick as Gaston
No one’s quick as Gaston

I had many expectations from Looking for Alaska, since my best friend recommend it to me and I did like it in the beginning, but my interest decreased  rapidly as I moved on. It just was not my book. It frustrated me to the extreme and I rarely found a scene or character to connect with.

Looking for Alaska

LeFou – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counter part.

Mrs Potts, Chip, Lumiere & Cogsworth – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable

The book that thought me the importance of following my dream and choosing my dream instead of letting a dream choose me was none other than The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I said it before and I will say this for probably the rest of my life: This book should be read by everyone at least once! The Alchemist

“Something There” – A book or a series that you weren’t into at first but picked up towards the end.

The first time I started this book I had to stop after 40 pages, because I found it really boring. It might have been the age, because a couple of years later I started again and loved it!Tunnels (Tunnels, #1)

“Be Our Guest” – A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner

Thank you very much for reading and since it is my first post of the year I wish you all a Happy New Year filled with joy! Until next time. Also, feel free to take on the challenge even if I forgot to tag you 😉

Most Likely To… Book Tag

The Character Most Likely too... (1)Hello every one!

I wasn’t actually personally tagged, Louise@GenieReads was and basically tagged every one and I decided to accept the challenge, because I liked it a lot! You can click here to read her post. Thank you Louise for participating and spreading the fun! 🙂 Also, you should check her blog for more, because it is wonderful!

Rules / Instructions

  1. Put 18 book characters into a jar and shake it up.
  2. Have the first three most likely to… categories ready. Pick three names from the jar and apply them to the first three categories.
  3. Keep going until you have none left!

ROUND 1

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Have kids first
  2. Cry at a movie
  3. Get arrested

The Characters: Lauren Holbrook from Hidden Fires, Ira Levinson from The Longest Ride and Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief

Lauren will definitely have kids first, because 1. she is a young married women and ahm.. I’m not going to spoil the book 2. she lives in the 19th century, which is long before the other two were born.
Ira is going to cry at a movie, because men cry at movies too, especially if they watch Fast & Furious (7).
Liesel will definitely get arrested, because she lived in Nazi Germany and she was stealing books.

ROUND 2

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Become a crazy cat lady/man
  2. Become a multi-millionaire
  3. Start knitting as a hobby

The Characters: Sherlock Holmes, Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit and Grenouille from Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Sherlock will become a crazy cat man, because he’s a high-functioning sociopath and he’ll need company after Watson leaves him.
Grenouille will become a multi-millionaire with the help of his perfumery skills.
Bilbo will start knitting as a hobby, because he’s old, bored and most probably Gandalf won’t take him on a trip again.

ROUND 3

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Be a closet nerd
  2. Become an actor/actress
  3. Fall down the stairs

The Characters: Scout Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia and Ram Mohammad Thomas from Slumdog Millionaire

Hard choice…. I would say the nerd would be Scout; we only knew her when she was small, so maybe she will become one when she grows up.
Lucy would become an actress with the help of her experiences gained in Narnia.
Ram will fall down the stairs, because he might be clumsy (?) or drunk (?)

ROUND 4

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Collect that many books they have a personal library
  2. Win the Hunger Games
  3. Be tumblr famous

The Characters: Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries, Christopher Boone from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Robert Langdon from Angels & Demons.

Christopher will probably collect a lot of books, because of having Asperger syndrome. He’s also very smart and introvert.
Damon would totally win the Hunger Games, because he’s a vampire.
Robert would be tumblr famous with his symbolistic knowledge; I’d definitely follow him.

ROUND 5

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Go through a goth phase
  2. Have a one night stand
  3. Go to comic con

The Characters: Edward Cullen from Twilight, Romeo Montague from Romeo and Juliet, Hanna Schmitz from The Reader.

(Sorry Twilight fans) Edward will be going through a goth phase (or he did already).
Hanna would be having a one night stand, because she doesn’t really get attached to people.
Romeo would go to comic con, but I can’t decide which comic would be his reason.

ROUND 6

Who’s most likely to…

  1. Get married
  2. Have a cool mug collection
  3. Be a night owl (stays awake most of the night)

The Characters: Augustus Water from The Fault in our Stars, Voldemort from Harry Potter and Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

THIS is a hard choice… for Augustus there would an obvious easy choice, but then I’m left with two men that don’t fit the other 2 scenarios. I’ll say he would get married first, since he’s the one with the highest chances of ever finding somebody. Wonka would own a cool mug collections and probably invent some really crazy ones. Voldemort would be a night owl, because he’s not actually a man and doesn’t need sleep at all.

This was really fun, although my luck failed me and didn’t get to make some really funny questions. Putting that aside I’d like to nominate the following people:

Mikaela @itsmemikaelaKelly @mynameisnotkatieSheri @readinaflashGretchen @chicnerdreads, Shannon @ClockworkBibliophileMia, Lynette and Vibha @geekyfangirls, Diana @nighttrainbooks and YOU!
