“Friday 5” No°5

Friday 5 for June 24: Scattergories, Part 6

“Hello, and welcome to this week’s Friday 5! Please copy these questions to your webspace. Answer the questions there; then leave a comment below so we’ll all know where to check out your responses. Please don’t forget to link us from your website!”

It’s the fourth Friday in June, which means it’s time for our annual Scattergories Five! My favorite Five of the year! (Yes; we’ve done them on the third Friday in June the past few years, but the fourth works better for me).

This week’s 5 is inspired by the party game Scattergories, in which players have to think of items, all beginning with the same letter, in several categories. For example, if the die is rolled and shows the letter T, players might have to name a soft drink, a farm animal, a river, and a U.S. President, all beginning with T. Valid answers might be Tab, turkey, Tennessee, and Tyler.

First, go to this nifty online random-letter generator. Set the “number of random letter sequences to generate” to 1. Set the “length of each random letter sequence” to 1. Leave the “letters to choose from” how it is and click the button. You’ll get a rather non-dramatic one letter. Use that letter to begin all your answers to the 5 questions below.  If you’d like to avoid difficult letters, feel free to change the “letters to choose from” list.  I’ll only judge you a little bit.  🙂

Alternately, if you find that boring, you could set the “length of each random letter sequence” to 5, thereby giving you five letters, a different one for each question.

“Sunday Stealing” No°7: “Ask Questions Meme”

For rules and/or information click hereCheers to all of us thieves!!!

Ask Questions Meme

  1. What type of criminal would you be? – The one that puts the least effort into, since I’m… well… pretty lazy.
  2. What are you listening to right now? – Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots
  3. If you had to choose a stripper name, what would it be? –  There are apparently apps that can tell you that (who would have thought of that?) and mine would be Kandy Kane. 👍
  4. If your phone started ringing, who would you hope is calling? – A lawyer that would tell me I just inherited a lot of money.
  5. Do you drink alcohol? – Yes, no hard stuff though. I prefer wine and Martini.
  6. Do you smoke? – No. I bare grudge to no one if the do so, as long as it’s not happening in my vicinity
  7. What is the first thing you notice in someone? – Shoes. I think there is a quote stating that shoes are some way of window to each ones personality.
  8. Do you get attached easily? – A lot of times, and mostly I lose interest as fast as I gained it.
  9. Do you like your eye color? – Yes.
  10. Have any stupid human tricks? – I haven’t discovered any yet.
  11. Humor me. What physical ideal do you imagine in a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner? – As plain as it might sound, normal. I find it har nowadays to find normality. I need no Beckham nor Tatum or any other “ideal” man, although I’m not saying that they’re not attractive. My preferences extend to blondish hair and blue eyes. He should be fit and kind of sporty (I’m not a picky person, so a six-pack isn’t necessary). Beautiful eyes and a beautiful smile. Now that I humoured you, I would like to express my dislike towards society’s “standards” and “ideals” and that I would never decide over somebody just based on the physical aspects, maybe at times would happen involuntarily, but I’ve had my experience with it and learned my lesson. It’s the personality and the values that matter which I have a difficulty in finding, but I’m still hoping. I know it sound like a cliché, but it’s really what I stand for.
  12. Any other essential quirks/interests/other you look for in a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner? – I’d appreciate a good taste in music, jokes, a musical ability like guitar or piano playing, a love for travelling and books.
  13. Have you ever stolen anything? – I’ll say no, since I want to become a part of the police enforcement one day.
  14. Any romantic gestures you really like? – It’s the small things that matter, mostly spontaneous.
  15. What’s your favorite color and why? – Blue and purple, because… they’re the best(?)
  16. What were you like when you were a kid? – Challenging, hyperactive.
  17. What would your dream house be like? – The one and only reason why I played Sims. Whenever I’ll find the time to replay it, I’ll upload a picture, because you don’t want me to get on with describing it.
  18. What last made you laugh? – I’m currently reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. “‘God you’re the best,’ I told him. ‘I bet you tell that to all the boys who finance your international travel,’ he answered.” page 90, paperback.
  19. Do you have a place you like to go to collect your thoughts? – My bed(?)
  20. What is your favorite word? – Eloquent
  21. What is your least favorite word? – Ignorance
  22. Would you go bungee jumping/sky diving if given the chance? – Yes, I definitely want to try it out at least once in my lifetime.
  23. Do you have any siblings? – Yes, a smaller brother.
  24. Do you like to dance? – Yes, I do. although that doesn’t make me a good dancer.
  25. What is your definition of cheating? – In a relationship: unsteadiness, dissatisfaction, the wish for more; in evrerything else: the search for “the easier way”

Thank you Kwizgiver for this week’s questions. Like all the previous weeks I had a lot of fun answering them. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and I wish everyone a nice week to come!

“Saturday 9” No°7 :: What Hurts the Most (2006)

Click on the image below for more information.

As always thank you Sam for the song choice! 🙂 I didn’t know this song before, but it’s my “type”, so this time I also thank you for introducing me to a new band I’ll definitely love from now on.

Saturday 9: What Hurts the Most (2006)
Unfamiliar with this week’s tune? Hear it here.

1) What hurts Sam the most is her sole, since she just found that earring she thought was lost by stepping on it with her bare foot. How about you? Any aches and pains to report?
There has been an “incident” with a glass candle holder in my room and I accidentally stepped on splinter.
2) What’s the last thing you misplaced? Did you find it?
My iPod. I found it 3 months later in a bag full of loom bands. I still don’t know why it ended up there.
3) Lead singer Gary LeVox sings that he’s not afraid to cry. When is the last time you shed a tear?
Two nights ago. I watched Captain America: Civil War and there was a very emotional scene with Tony Stark aka Iron-Man.
4) Gary auditioned for another country group, Little Big Town, but didn’t get in. Considering how successful Rascal Flatts has been, he’s probably not sorry. Tell us about something you thought you wanted, but later weren’t so sure.
Clothes. All the time 😂. When I get come I “realise” I already have a lot of clothes and actually don’t need any more.
5) The country group has their roots in Columbus, Ohio. What else is Ohio known for?
🙈 I wish I knew, but as mentioned before I’m not very familiar with general knowledge of America.
6) Lead guitarist Joe Don Rooney married model and former Miss Georgia, Tiffany Fallon. Many major pageants give prizes in the talent, congeniality and swimsuit competitions. Would you prefer to have exceptional skills, a great personality, or a terrific body?
A great personality. It’s inside that matters.
7) 2006, the year this song was popular, was a very good one for tennis pro Roger Federer. He reached the finals in all four Grand Slam tournaments, and won three. What’s the last game you won? (Yes, Words with Friends counts.)
I think a card game, but I’m not sure. Lately I’ve only played multiplayer games, where you can’t really “win” or “lose”.
8) Actor Tony Shalhoub won an Emmy in 2006 for his portrayal of detective Adrian Monk on Monk. Who’s your favorite TV detective?
Sherlock Holmes from “Elementary” (I haven’t watched “Sherlock” yet, so Jonny Lee Miller is my favourite Sherlock until proven otherwise)
9) Random question … You’ve just won an all-expenses-paid trip but now you have to choose: Carnivale in Brazil, the Bordeaux Wine Festival in France, or the Running of the Bulls in Spain?
Bulls are life-threatening and although I like wine, I don’t think I want to go to a wine festival. It’s pretty obvious that I’d choose Brazil, but another reason would be that it’s very far from Europe and harder for me to reach (and more expensive than the rest).

“Sunday Stealing” No°6: “Doodley-Do Meme”

For rules and/or information click hereCheers to all of us thieves!!!
Better late than never.

Doodley-Do Meme
Stolen from: i take surveys

Do you keep notes, drawings or letters that people give you?
I do collect a lot of “useless” things like the ones mentioned above.
How many true best friends are present in your life?
2 girls (+ my cousin, but hey, friends are the family you get to choose and she kind of got stuck with me and had no choice but to become my best friend 😉 )
Do you currently have a significant other?
None that I know of ;).
Would you be able to stand being in the same room as someone you hate?
Leave me with my iPod and I promise I’ll only listen to music. (Actually I think she would be more enraged than me to be in the same room as me, since she was the bully.)
Do you depend on people at all, in any way?
On my parents, because they give me a place to stay and my teachers because by grading me they hold my future in their hands. (Just kidding with the last part. At least partially)
Have you ever lost a close friend?
“Lost” like in dying, no and I’m grateful for that, but I did lose a “couple” of “close” friends in the past few years. I wrote “close” because by now I realised we weren’t as close as I thought.
Has anybody ever held a grudge against you for a dumb reason?
Yes. 7th grade I was accused of stealing a pen, A PEN, from my “bully” and of course everyone believed her, even my teacher, which didn’t even want to listen to my parents. At the end of the year I got a smaller behaviour grade, just because of that.
Have you ever stayed up late talking to someone you like on the phone or online?
“Like” in like a candidate for the “significant other” role, it’s possible, but I stay up late almost every day and talk to someone from time to time, so it wouldn’t be like I made an exception for someone.
Have you ever felt backstabbed by a close friend?
I did so recently. In February I had a “talk” with my guy best friend at the time and a couple of misunderstandings resulted, he kept his distance from me, I thought it was my fault and tried my best to make him “forgive” me. 2 months later I found his reason from his girlfriend, which would have made the situation much easier if I knew it at the start. That’s when I decided I had enough and “broke up” with him.
Have you ever regretted ignoring anybody?
Mostly it’s me that gets ignored and I don’t recall ever ignoring anybody (memory loss?)
Has a friend of yours ever confessed their love to you?
I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but I lack of a good memory and if something like this had happend, I would have chosen to forget it in case it wasn’t mutual.
Have you written or drawn anything for somebody else?
I’ve written letters a few times and I always send postcards to my friends in Australia (It’s a deal we’ve made, that wherever we’d go, we will always send each other postcards 🙂 )
Do you tend to hide your emotions from certain people? How do you hide them?
Avoiding talking on certain subjects or changing the subject. I don’t think it actually works, or maybe my best friend is just that good, that she always knows when something is wrong – sometimes even when I don’t.
Do your friends know how to make you smile in tough times?
I hope they do. Kidding 😀 Sure they do 🙂
Could you picture yourself on a reality TV show?
No, not a chance. First of all, I’m weird and nobody would want to watch it. Second of all, I’m not the type of person that is able to put on a “mask” for an audience.
Are you better at drawing or colouring?
I’d say colouring, because it’s easier(?), but I prefer drawing, because it gives me the felling of accomplishing something with my own hands.
Do you prefer meat or seafood?
Meat – pork or chicken.
Have you ever read the Bill of Rights / Declaration of Independence?
Bill of Rights in English class. The French Declaration of Independence in History class.
Would you rather become a police officer or a firefighter?
A police officer. In fact I thought about it for almost a year; Major Crimes would have been my choice of field. Now it just shifted a little bit – Forensic Scientist.

“Saturday 9” No°6 :: These Boots Were Made for Walkin’ (1966)

Click on the image below for more information.

Thank you Sam for this week’s song pick!  “One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you” ❤

Saturday 9: These Boots Were Made for Walkin’ (1966)
Unfamiliar with this week’s tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song/video, Ms. Sinatra’s boots make a serious fashion statement. Do you choose footwear for comfort or fashion?
Comfort in 9/10 situations.
2) This is by far the biggest hit of Nancy Sinatra’s career, which includes 6 top ten hits. Can you name another?
Bang, Bang.
3) Nancy recorded it on Reprise Records, which was founded by her father, Frank. Did your parents give you a leg up in your chosen career?
I haven’t yet started to work, but I don’t think they will be able to help me get in criminalistic.
4) Professionally Nancy has been involved in espionage, singing the theme to a James Bond movie and appearing in an episode of The Man from UNCLE. Do you enjoy spy/secret agent stories?
I did watch a few in the past few years, to be honest never a James Bond movie, but I’ve never been truly into them.
5) Nancy maintains the official Sinatra family website, which includes a link to the site of Mia Farrow. Ms. Farrow was, briefly, Nancy’s stepmother, and obviously they are still on good terms. Do you have a big, extended family?
I do have a lot of cousins on my mother’s side of the family.
6) Nancy’s music — and posters — were very popular with the troops during the Vietnam War. Nancy continues to return their loyalty and affection with her efforts on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Here’s your chance to promote a cause that’s near and dear to your heart. What charity gets your support?
I’m not supporting any charity at the moment, but I’ll definitely do in the future (when I’ll get a proper job)
7) Nancy hosts a Sirius radio show devoted to her father’s music. Do you have a subscription to a satellite radio or podcast network?
I listen to radio “almost” 24/7. I’m listening to the AFN (American Forces Network) Europe radio station.
8) Nancy has said that she and her sister Tina had a more comfortable relationship with their famous father than their late brother, Frank, Jr., did. Do you think it’s easier for mothers to get along with their sons, while fathers have an easier time with their daughters?
Yes, I do. Although I’ve had a share of fights with both of my parents throughout the years, I always felt that I had more things in common with my father and I do tend to get along with him easier nowadays than my mother.
9) Random question: Tonight’s dinner is on us. Would you prefer to eat at a casual restaurant with exceptional food, or an exclusive restaurant with so-so food but a celebrity clientele?
I wouldn’t want to miss the chance of meeting a few celebrities, depending on which ones, but as being a gourmand, I would prefer to eat an exceptional dinner instead.
