• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

My Teaser
I open my eyes and pause. I am standing outside the Baptist church, and when I stare at the gable, I know exactly who I am.
My name is Landon Carter, and I’m seventeen years old.
This is my story; I promise to leave nothing out.
First you will smile, and then you will cry — don’t say you haven’t been warned.A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks ( page xiii – Prologue — paperback)
Synopysis:
Every April, when the wind blows from the sea and mingles with the scent of lilacs, Landon Carter remembers his last year at Beaufort High. It was 1958, and Landon had already dated a girl or two. He even swore that he had once been in love. Certainly the last person in town he thought he’d fall for was Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town’s Baptist minister.
A quiet girl who always carried a Bible with her schoolbooks, Jamie seemed content living in a world apart from the other teens. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. No boy had ever asked her out. Landon would never have dreamed of it.
Then a twist of fate made Jamie his partner for the homecoming dance, and Landon Carter’s life would never be the same. Being with Jamie would show him the depths of the human heart and lead him to a decision so stunning it would send him irrevocably on the road to manhood…

Haha I’ve never read anything by Nicholas Sparks, I’m thinking I’ll need to now. Any suggestions as to which one I should start off with?

The Longest Ride is in my opinion one of his best works so far, not too frustrating or with too manc clichés (in case you heard about his works in general😂) and it also has a happy ending (although you might cry a lot). I’m glad you’re willing to give him a chance 😊 In case you’ve watched any movie adaptation and you liked it, you can be sure you’ll like the books too.

I will definitely check it out! I’ve seen quite a few of his movies and they are quite cliché-full but who doesn’t love a cliché every once in a while? Haha thank you for the recommendation 🙂

If you can overlook the clichés, I always do😁, the stories are quite lovely. I know sometimes they might seem repetitive, but I still love them! And you’re welcome!

I have never read anything by Nicholas Sparks. This one does sound intriguing. My teaser this week comes from a soon-to-be-released fantasy – Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet by Charlie N. Holmberg. Happy reading!

This is one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks’ books. I remember I watched the movie when I was a kid and loved it so I read the book. The book is definitely better, but I still have a soft spot for the movie too. 🙂

I’ve almost finished the book and I love it so much! The movie is also my second favourite adaptation of Sparks’ books (The Longest Ride hasn’t been outclassed yet). I also liked your teaser, thank you for sharing! 🙂
